Navigating Your Business Brand During Times of Uncertainty

I just wanted to touch base with all my clients, colleagues, partners, vendors, and friends during these unprecedented times. Identity Brand + Design is open (the benefit of working remotely!), 100% operational, and available should anyone need help with their website, social media, or general brand messaging. Give a call, text, email, message… I’ll be happy to assist in any way that I can. The Times-Union put out a great list of tips today to help your business adapt that I find beneficial… Read it here.

I’ve had a few reach out with questions – and some panic – regarding the state of their businesses. The best advice I can give is to take a step back and try to assess your business needs at the moment. I know, easier said than done in times of uncertainty. However, doing so could lead to breakthroughs and new opportunities that may not only benefit the business, but also the community in its time of need.

For instance, take the St. Augustine Distillery. They pivoted and began producing hand sanitizers in response to the shortage (Read the full story here). A brilliant business move, and a generous, much-needed contribution to the community during this time of crisis.

Take the time to evaluate your business. Review your services, products, and processes to see how things can be streamlined for better performance, safety, or developed for new audiences. Connect with industry peers and colleagues to brainstorm new ideas. Assess your brand and marketing efforts… could now be the time to rebrand and unveil new messaging that connects with the audience on a much deeper, compassionate level? How can you leverage technology for your employees and customers for greater efficiency? The list goes on…

The point is… stay the course. Don’t quit. Look at this as an opportunity to improve. Stay positive, hopeful and operate with empathy. Remember, it’s not how hard you can hit – it’s how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward (as Rocky Balboa would say). Know that we are all in this together – and together we will weather the storm.

Stay safe & healthy – Bernadette
